Toys“R”Us Asia opens IP collection flagship store at Suria KLCC, to feature SEA’s first TOMICA brand store

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Toys“R”Us Asia has opened a new IP Collection Flagship Store at Suria KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, marking the brand’s most significant store concept update in Malaysia in nearly two decades. Located on Level 2 of the shopping mall, the store features immersive brand zones and interactive displays built around multiple entertainment and toy intellectual properties.

According to Toys“R”Us Asia, the flagship introduces a range of global IPs, including TOMICA, Pokémon and Gundam, within a single retail space. Carol Chua, general manager of Toys“R”Us Malaysia, said the Suria KLCC location was selected for its strong connection with local shoppers.

“Suria KLCC holds special memories for many Malaysians, and we’re excited to help create new ones,” she said. “In this new flagship store, we are bringing together world-class IPs including TOMICA, Pokémon, Gundam and many more. We invite fans of all ages to connect with their favourite universes, and Live Toyful with us.”

A key feature of the new outlet is the TOMICA Brand Store, which opens on 18 December and is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The dedicated area offers original TOMICA Shop products from Japan as well as monthly releases exclusive to TOMICA Brand Stores. Two items are available only at the Suria KLCC location in Malaysia.

The TOMICA zone also houses what Toys“R”Us describes as the largest TOMICA wall in Southeast Asia, displaying more than 2,000 die-cast cars. Weekend activities include a “White TOMICA Colouring” session, allowing visitors to customise their own models. The opening extends the partnership between Toys“R”Us Asia and TOMY Company into Southeast Asia, following previous TOMICA Brand Stores in Shanghai and Beijing.

Beyond TOMICA, the flagship store includes several themed IP zones. The Gundam section features a life-size GQuuuuuuX statue from the latest series, which Toys“R”Us says is the only one in Malaysia, alongside exclusive merchandise and model kits. A three-metre Hot Wheels playset recreates the Suria KLCC skyline in miniature form.

Other offerings include a Pokémon Trading Card Game area with access to new releases such as the Mega Evolution – Phantasmal Flames expansion, Malaysia’s first Blokees figurine wall, and Blokees Wheels products available exclusively at Toys“R”Us. The store also introduces a newly curated Barbie zone inspired by the Barbie Dreamhouse, designed as a photo opportunity for visitors.

Toys“R”Us Asia said each zone was designed to guide shoppers through different IP experiences, positioning the Suria KLCC flagship as a destination for families, collectors and fans of popular toy and entertainment franchises.
