Jakarta, Indonesia – PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has partnered with PT Finture Tech Indonesia, the company behind the digital credit platform Yup, to introduce a new payment option in the MyMRTJ mobile application. The launch event, held at Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station, was attended by MRT Jakarta’s Director of Business Development, Farchad Mahfud, and President of Yup, Elok Wahyuni.
Through the collaboration, MRT Jakarta passengers can now pay for train tickets using Yup’s integrated digital credit service. The initiative aims to enhance convenience and expand digital payment choices within Jakarta’s public transport ecosystem.
Farchad said the partnership reflects MRT Jakarta’s ongoing commitment to providing modern, efficient, and inclusive urban mobility solutions while supporting Jakarta’s Smart City vision. “This collaboration is a tangible step in realising MRT Jakarta’s commitment to delivering efficient and modern mobility experiences for all users. With the payment method provided by Yup, transactions can now be completed faster, more easily, and securely,” he said during the launch.
Echoing this sentiment, Elok highlighted that the innovation aligns with efforts to simplify urban mobility and advance digital transformation in Jakarta’s public transport system. “The integration of Yup’s payment option in the MyMRTJ app allows users to purchase MRT tickets without topping up their balance first. MRT users can choose the ‘pay later’ option, which is part of Yup’s practical and secure Digital Credit product,” she said.
In addition to ticket purchases, the Yup app can also be used at various retail outlets near MRT Jakarta stations. To mark the launch, MRT Jakarta and Yup are offering a special promotion—“Free MRT Rides for One Week”—for new users who purchase MRT tickets using Yup’s Digital Credit option. The promotion applies across all MRT Jakarta routes during the campaign period.
The introduction of this new digital credit payment feature is expected to make public transport access more convenient for commuters and support greater adoption of digital financial solutions in Jakarta.
