Indonesia – PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk. (Paradise Indonesia) and Vacances (s) Pte. Ltd (Club Med) have signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop upscale all-inclusive resorts across Indonesia, aiming to boost the country’s tourism sector.
The signing ceremony was held at Residence OnFive, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, and formalised the mutually exclusive partnership between Anthony Prabowo Susilo, president director and CEO of Paradise Indonesia, and Rachael Harding, CEO for East and South Asia & Pacific Markets at Club Med.
Under the agreement, the two hospitality companies plan to develop more than five resorts across Indonesia, with the first phase comprising three resorts in North Sulawesi, Bali, and West Java over the next five years.
Both parties said the partnership reflects a shared vision of creating lifestyle-focused holiday experiences that align with the preferences of modern travellers. The resorts will be developed in multiple phases, with a focus on key tourist destinations.
The partnership also aligns with Indonesia’s national tourism agenda to attract more domestic and international visitors. The developments are expected to generate employment opportunities, support talent development in hospitality, and create broader economic benefits for surrounding communities.
Club Med, which currently operates two resorts in Indonesia—Club Med Bali (opened in 1984) and Club Med Bintan (1997)—has had a longstanding presence in the country. It was the first operator to open a resort in Nusa Dua under a government-led tourism development project. As part of its broader 2023–2025 global expansion plan, Club Med aims to open 17 new resorts worldwide, including several extensions and renovations.
The company also emphasised its ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism under its ‘Happy To Care’ initiative, which includes environmental protection, community engagement, and responsible operations in resort locations.
“This strategic partnership with Paradise Indonesia brings together brand synergies, expertise and innovation of both organisations and aligns perfectly with our mission to continue delivering exceptional experiences for our customers, while continuing to accelerate our international reach to the beautiful destinations of Indonesia,” shared Henri Giscard d’Estaing, president of Club Med.
Harding added, “Our strategic partnership with Paradise Indonesia marks a significant milestone in our development strategy for Indonesia. We are excited to have found a solid partner who fully supports and appreciates Club Med’s upscale strategy and identity. We are confident that this partnership will create incremental value for all our stakeholders and accelerate our commitment to further establish Club Med as the world leader in all-inclusive and experiential premium holidays in stunning locations.”
Meanwhile, Paradise Indonesia operates 25 business units in eight cities and has over 30 years of experience in developing lifestyle destinations. Its portfolio spans hotels, retail spaces, and residential properties. The company reports a 100% completion rate across all projects to date.
“We are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with Club Med. This joint venture aims to unveil a series of developments that will not only foster mutual growth for both companies but also bring about substantial benefits to the local communities and areas in which we build. Our united vision is to cultivate sustainable and enriching experiences for all,” Prabowo said.
