Philippines –  Communications consultancy Mutant has launched its office in the Philippines. This move expands the agency’s regional footprint and sharpens its presence across Southeast Asia, marking a key milestone in its growth strategy.

Setting foot in the Philippines, Mutant aims to bring its strategic, creative, and results-driven communications approach to the market.

Dev Atinaja and Luckie Masbad are set to lead Mutant’s Philippine operations as its PR directors. They will be responsible for local strategy, client success, and business development in the market.

Atinaja brings her expertise in consumer storytelling and brand building to her new role. She has led campaigns for brands such as Lazada, McDonald’s, Epson, Nestlé, Bosch, adidas, and SM Supermalls.

Meanwhile, Masbad brings a multidisciplinary approach with her experience in social media, events, ATL campaigns, and client servicing.

Mutant’s entry into the Philippines reinforces its position as a regional agency. The firm delivers integrated communications based on local insight, business intelligence, and measurable impact.

Joseph Barratt, CEO at Mutant, said, “The Philippines is a vibrant, fast-evolving market with so much untapped potential for brands to build real connections to a strong media landscape and digitally-savvy consumers. What’s needed now is communications that are smart, strategic, creative, and commercially meaningful—and that’s exactly what we’re here to deliver. With Dev and Luckie at the helm, we’re bringing top-tier talent and sharp local understanding, and the kind of energy that makes Mutant who we are as a regional agency.”

“The PR landscape here is shifting fast—with the rise of the creator economy and evolving media consumption, brands need to be bolder and more strategic in how they show up and get their messaging across. Mutant’s approach is rooted in strategy, creative and real outcomes, and I’m excited to bring that mindset to local brands looking to grow with impact,” Atinaja commented.

Masbad said, “At the heart of what we do is helping brands to connect with the right people; it’s not just about visibility anymore. It’s about creating authentic moments that spark action and loyalty, crafting communications that work on a local level, but also align with brands’ broader regional or global goals. This is the beginning of a new chapter for Mutant and for PR across the Philippines.”

Mutant was initially launched in 2012, with established offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Singapore – Communications agency Mutant has promoted Abraham Christopher as its new regional head of client success, formerly its head of public relations and social media.

In his new role, Christopher will lead efforts to deliver transformative communication solutions to its clients while driving agency growth across Southeast Asia. He will focus on helping Mutant’s clients meet their business and communication objectives amidst the dynamic economic landscape.

Christopher joined Mutant in 2021 and has since then helped in regional business development during its expansion in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. In his former role, he secured high-profile clients while boosting the agency’s capabilities.

With over ten years of experience in the industry, Christopher showcases an expertise in public relations, social media strategy and crisis management.

Mutant’s client portfolio includes Sport Singapore, Epson, SEEK Asia, M1, Disney+, and Brown-Forman.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – PR agency Mutant has announced the appointment of Renny Rengganis and Charmaine Goh as directors in Indonesia and Malaysia, respectively, growing the agency’s leadership team and capabilities across the region.

These appointments come with Mutant’s growth of its regional headcount from 31 to 50 in the past year, driving the need for fresh senior veterans to lead its growing team.

Rengganis joins Mutant Indonesia with 17 years of experience, having previously led successful communication campaigns for brands such as X (formerly Twitter), Smartfren Telecom, Frisian Flag, and Unilever Citra Body Lotion.

Goh on the other hand, brings over a decade of experience to Mutant Malaysia, having worked with global brands, such as Diageo, Michelin Guide, Sony Pictures, Nestlé, Heineken, Philips, and adidas.

Renngganis, who has previously held roles at Edelman Indonesia, Zeno Indonesia, Burson Cohn and Wolfe Indonesia, will report to Indonesia country manager, Tanya Tresnasari, whilst Goh, who was previously senior account director at ROOTS PR, will report to Malaysia country manager, Archana Menon.

Talking about her appointment, Rengganis said, “Mutant has swiftly established a solid reputation for itself and I’m excited to join forces with the talented team to craft extraordinary results for the clients.”

Goh also added, “I look forward to leading our talented team in delivering innovative and impactful solutions for clients as we continue to navigate the dynamic media landscape in Malaysia.”

Meanwhile, Joseph Barratt, CEO of Mutant, commented, “These senior hires reflect our commitment to the Malaysia and Indonesia markets, which have shown significant growth in the past year, even with economic odds stacked against them. In this demanding environment, the bar for communications is higher than ever – and delivering world-class work takes world-class people and that’s exactly who Charmaine and Renny are.”

Indonesia – Public relations and content marketing agency Mutant has appointed Tanya Tresnasari, former general manager of Golin and Weber Shandwick, to be its new country manager for Indonesia.

In her new role, Tresnasari will be leading, running, and delivering strategic and results-driven campaigns across PR, content, social media, and branding.

Tresnasari brings more than 20 years of experience in the communications industry, spanning advertising, activation, and public relations. At Golin and Weber Shandwick, she was instrumental in driving cross-practice collaboration and helped to diversify the agency’s roster with key clients, including Sanofi, MSD, Clubhouse, Linktree, Carousell, Shell, and Hyundai, as well as Cathay Pacific, and Singapore Airlines, amongst others.

Mutant said that expanding to Indonesia was the next logical step for the agency after a successful decade in Singapore and robust growth in Malaysia since its launch in 2019.

Commenting on her appointment, Tresnasari said, “Just as the name suggests, Mutant is constantly evolving. I’m excited to bring the agency’s blended PR, content, social and branding approach and adapt it for clients locally. With the addition of new hires, Mutant Indonesia has already hit the ground running, and I look forward to welcoming and driving real business outcomes for clients.”

Meanwhile, Joseph Barratt, founder and CEO of Mutant, noted, “It’s an exciting time to enter the market, with a differentiated offering that combines PR, content, social media, and branding to help businesses succeed. I can’t think of anyone better than Tanya to lead us through this, and pave the way for Mutant’s next chapter.”

In addition, Gabriela Gunawan also joins Mutant Indonesia as a PR Manager. Previously from Golin Jakarta and Weber Shandwick, Gunawan has worked with a variety of clients, including Morgan Stanley, Johnson & Johnson, Sanofi, and SK-II, as well as Mastercard.

Singapore – Public relations and content marketing agency Mutant in Singapore has appointed four new key leaders, namely Matthew de Bakker, the new country manager for Singapore, Lina Marican, the new regional managing director, Byravee Iyer, the new head of content, and Rebecca Lewis, the new brand strategy director.

De Bakker is an experienced agency leader who has led Mutant’s PR business in Singapore since 2017. During his time as head of PR, De Bakker helped add a string of big brands and well-funded startups to the agency’s client roster, including Singapore Sports Hub, Experian APAC, Disney, and Ula, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Marican was previously Mutant’s managing director, and has more than tripled the agency’s revenue and expanded its headcount to over 30 across its Singapore and Malaysia offices. In her new role, she will now be responsible for launching and scaling the agency in new and existing markets in Southeast Asia.

And lastly, Iyer and Lewis, who will both step into newly created roles, will now be seeking to expand Mutant’s fast-growing content and brand offerings.

Joseph Barratt, Mutant’s CEO, shared that they have exciting plans to set up offices in new markets, with Indonesia and the Philippines on their horizon this coming Mutant’s 10th anniversary.

“I am confident that Mutant’s leadership team will continue to build on our foundation of being communications partners that drive business results for our clients,” said Barratt.
