Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – PropertyGuru Malaysia has teamed up with local alt-pop band IamNEETA in the launch of Kamar Irama, a new cultural content series that reimagines the idea of home through music, place, and storytelling.
The debut episode, which recently premiered on Kamar Irama’s YouTube channel, features an intimate acoustic performance by IamNEETA at Shah Alam Extreme Park—just steps away from the now-defunct Senyap Cafe, where the band played its first-ever gig in 2012.
Performed against the park’s iconic concrete slopes, the set includes fan favourites Jatuh Cinta and Sakit, along with a preview of their new single Nangis. The episode also includes behind-the-scenes interviews and neighbourhood walkabouts on TikTok and Instagram, tying together memory, music, and location.
“Through Kamar Irama, we are reimagining what it means to talk about property. Beyond listings or square footage, it is about human stories, the neighbourhoods that shape us, and cultural experiences that make home feel like home. We are proud to launch this series with IamNEETA and celebrate the spirit of local music and community,” said Kar Wai Low, country marketing director for Malaysia & Thailand at PropertyGuru and iProperty.
“We have performed in many venues, but singing in the heart of Shah Alam, where we have made many formative memories as a band — the skatepark where we performed for Kamar Irama was next to where we had our first gig – was incredibly nostalgic for us. Even though the cafe is not around anymore, this experience allowed us to reminisce about the past 13 years since that day. Collaborating with PropertyGuru Malaysia on this project made it even more special, because it is a platform we actually use,” said Neeta Manishaa, vocalist of IamNEETA.
Kamar Irama moves away from the conventional view of home as merely a property investment. Instead, the series explores the emotional and cultural aspects of home—spotlighting the streets, stories, and sounds that give a neighbourhood its soul. This broader perspective resonates with insights from PropertyGuru’s H2 2024 Consumer Sentiment Study, which revealed that Malaysians increasingly value public transport access, green spaces, and walkable or bikeable environments when choosing where to live.
As the country approaches National Day, Kamar Irama taps into evolving ideas of home—highlighting not just physical spaces, but also the sense of belonging, identity, and culture that defines them.
Upcoming episodes will continue to showcase Malaysia-based artists in locations rich with meaning, celebrating the powerful intersections of music, memory, and place across the country.
Earlier this week, PropertyGuru in Singapore collaborated with Singaporean streetwear designer Mark Ong, also known as Mr. Sabotage, for a reversible jacket that pays tribute to the agents and their daily efforts, released ahead of SG60. Moreover, it reflects the duality that property agents face. They find the balance between doing their work and staying committed to people and communities.
