Hong Kong – Kai Tak Sports Park Limited (KTSPL) has appointed Andrew Kam Min-Ho as CEO designate, who will take over from John Sharkey on 1 April 2026, marking a key leadership transition for the landmark Hong Kong sports and entertainment precinct.
The appointment is effective immediately. Kam will assume full responsibility as CEO, while Sharkey will serve KTSPL as senior advisor from 1 April 2026. Kam will work closely with Sharkey in the lead-up to his official appointment.
With over 30 years of leadership experience in the entertainment, tourism, and consumer sectors across international, Chinese Mainland, and local markets, Kam brings extensive industry insight and operational expertise. His background in business strategy, tourism development, and large-scale venue operations positions him to further develop Kai Tak Sports Park and expand its economic impact.
Kam’s appointment follows a rigorous selection process conducted by KTSPL and its Board of Directors, reflecting the organisation’s long-term strategic planning. It also signals a new phase of growth for the precinct.
“We are pleased to appoint Andrew Kam as the next CEO of Kai Tak Sports Park Limited. Andrew brings a unique blend of global experience and local insight that will be invaluable in leading Kai Tak Sports Park into its next chapter,” the Board of Directors said.
“As we welcome Andrew, the entire KTSPL team remains committed to delivering excellence and advancing Hong Kong’s future in culture, sports, and tourism,” they added.
Kam will succeed Sharkey, who has led the project since its inception and completed a nearly decade-long tenure. Under Sharkey’s leadership, a multidisciplinary team oversaw the design, construction, and operations of the precinct, establishing Kai Tak Sports Park as a notable venue that integrates sports, culture, entertainment, retail, and community. Within nine months of the grand opening, Kai Tak Stadium ranked third globally in annual ticket sales, selling 1.25 million tickets and generating USD $191.34 million, according to Pollstar.
The Board also expressed gratitude to Sharkey, saying, “We extend our deepest gratitude to John Sharkey for his exceptional leadership and contributions for nearly a decade. We are grateful to John for leaving behind a legacy of 21 global awards associated with Kai Tak Sports Park, which will continue to stand as a treasured icon of Hong Kong.”
