Bangkok, Thailand – Ride-hailing platform Bolt has launched a campaign in Thailand aimed at encouraging people to choose ride-hailing instead of driving after a night out.
The campaign, titled “Don’t Drink and Drive — Ride with Bolt” runs from 12 March to 30 April 2026 and targets peak nightlife hours when drunk driving risks are typically higher.
The initiative follows findings from Bolt’s 2025 Night-Time Mobility Survey conducted with IPSOS, which examined how people travel during evening and late-night hours. According to the survey, 52% of respondents said they use ride-hailing after consuming alcohol rather than driving themselves, while 63% said they rely on ride-hailing when travelling late at night or in unfamiliar areas.
The study also found that 96% of respondents believe ride-hailing helps reduce drink-driving risks, and 92% said they have booked a ride for friends or family members to help ensure they return home safely.
Demand for late-night transport remains strong in Thailand, particularly between 22:00 and 04:00, as nightlife, hospitality, tourism, and late-shift work continue to contribute to urban economic activity.
As part of the campaign, Bolt is offering a 20% discount via a dedicated promo code valid on Fridays and Saturdays from 22:00 to 05:00. The company is also introducing in-app reminders during late-night hours aimed at encouraging users to choose safer travel options.
“At Bolt, safety is a core priority in everything we do,” said Nathadon Suksiritarnan, general manager for Bolt ride-hailing Thailand. “Our survey shows that people already see ride-hailing as a safer alternative after a night out. Through this campaign, we’re reinforcing that behaviour and encouraging even more responsible mobility choices.”
Bolt said the campaign forms part of its broader safety efforts, which include in-app safety features, ride monitoring tools, and messaging aimed at supporting both riders and drivers. The company added that the initiative is intended to promote safer mobility choices during late-night hours as shared mobility continues to grow in Thailand.
