Manila, Philippines – Coca‑Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP) has entered into a partnership with the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) and the Provincial Government of Quirino to expand the reach of the ‘Tapon to Ipon’ (From wasting to saving) programme to more local government units (LGUs) across the country.
The collaboration is intended to strengthen coordination with LGUs and enhance their polyethylene terephthalate (PET) collection and recycling systems, a strong type of plastic commonly used to make soft drink and water bottles. Support under the initiative includes the provision of solid waste management equipment, such as baling machines.
CCEAP also formalised its partnership with the Province of Quirino, which has become ULAP’s first LGU member to join and activate the programme officially.
Moreover, the programme serves as a flagship initiative of the Coca-Cola system in the Philippines, seeking to accelerate the recovery of PET bottles, regardless of brand, and to reinforce recycling efforts within partner communities.
Through the partnership with ULAP and the Province of Quirino, CCEAP aims to support the development of more accessible and community-based solid waste management solutions in additional areas nationwide.
