Manila, Philippines – CHAGEE has marked a regional first with the opening of its inaugural pet-friendly store in Southeast Asia, launched on December 5 in Eastwood City, Philippines. The launch will include a three-day pop-up event offering activities and giveaways for visitors and their pets.
The opening follows the rise of pet ownership among Filipinos and forms part of CHAGEE’s effort to position the new branch as a space where tea culture and pet companionship coexist. The store featured animal-themed installations, alfresco seating with weather-resistant furniture, non-slip flooring, air purifiers, and various amenities designed for pet safety and hygiene.

The branch will also provide free water for pets, served in dedicated bowls, and includes an enclosed tea bar with glass panels intended to prevent exposure to fur and dander. Additional facilities include a cleaning station and an indoor handwash area. Customers will also find pet-themed cups exclusive to the Eastwood location.
Moreover, a series of activities was scheduled from December 5 to 7, including a photo booth, a giant cup installation, and a costume-themed “Paw-shion Show”.
Participants who complete two activities may claim prizes such as drink vouchers. Shoppers who purchase pet merchandise will receive a complimentary “family paw-trait” and may join a social media contest by posting their photos.
CHAGEE is also reintroducing its “Tear and Win” promotion for the opening weekend. Customers who bought any large fresh milk tea from December 5 to 7 will receive a ‘Tear and Win’ cup containing prizes ranging from branded pet accessories to pet spa sessions. Limited-edition merchandise, including pet pins, thermal cups, and foldable pet tents will also be available. A promotional offer will also allow customers to purchase two large select milk tea drinks for PHP 165.
As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, CHAGEE has also partnered with ‘Pawssion Project’, an animal welfare organisation that rescues and rehomes stray animals. Proceeds from the store’s pet merchandise and stickers from December 5 to 7 will be donated to the organisation. Photos of rescued animals will also be displayed in-store to encourage adoption.
“Launching CHAGEE’s first pet-friendly store in Southeast Asia reflects our commitment to creating meaningful moments of connection. Our tea has always brought people together, and we know the bonds we share with our pets are just as special. With this new concept, we’re excited to bring tea culture and pet companionship together in one warm, welcoming space,” said Christopher Tiong, general manager of CHAGEE Philippines.
“We’re also excited to partner with the Pawssion Project. Their advocacy fits so naturally with our goal of building kinder, more connected communities. With this partnership, we hope to give customers an easy, meaningful way to help more animals find loving homes,” he added.
