Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – TOHO Co., Ltd. will open Southeast Asia’s first permanent official Godzilla retail outlet, GODZILLA STORE Malaysia, on 9 January 2026 at LaLaport BUKIT BINTANG CITY CENTRE in Kuala Lumpur. The store, located on the mall’s second floor, is being launched in collaboration with Toho Entertainment Asia and Malaysian partner M&M Creations Holdings.
The Malaysia outlet marks the second phase of the GODZILLA STORE’s overseas expansion, following the opening of GODZILLA STORE Taipei in September 2025. According to the company, the Taipei store attracted strong interest from fans and was positioned as a space where visitors could experience the Godzilla brand more fully, providing momentum for further regional expansion.
Similar to existing GODZILLA STORE locations in Japan, the Malaysia store will feature a Godzilla statue at its entrance. The approximately two-metre-tall statue is based on the Godzilla design featured in the 70th anniversary special video, “70 Years of Godzilla: A New Roar in Southeast Asia,” which was released in May 2025. Inside, the store will include themed walls, neon lighting and designated photo areas, alongside displays of official Godzilla merchandise.
The retail space is also intended to function as a community venue, with themed installations and regular in-store events planned for fans and families. A range of officially licensed products will be available at launch, including figures, plush toys, apparel and lifestyle items, with exclusive GODZILLA STORE Malaysia merchandise scheduled to be introduced progressively after opening.
The opening of GODZILLA STORE Malaysia forms part of Toho’s broader strategy to expand the Godzilla brand across Asia. Working with Toho Entertainment Asia, which is headquartered in Singapore, the company aims to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia and extend the brand’s reach to a wider regional fan base.
