VIRTUE APAC appoints Neon Drew as account director to drive new business growth

Singapore – VIRTUE APAC has appointed Neon Drew as account director to lead the agency’s ambitious push for new business growth across the region as it prepares for 2025.

Based at VIRTUE APAC’s Singapore headquarters, Drew will lead new business development across the region, drawing on the agency’s extensive capabilities, including its cultural IP and recently launched entertainment-focused content studio—an end-to-end service encompassing content strategy, creative development, production, and measurement.

A hybrid talent with expertise in editorial, content strategy, and account management, Drew brings a rich background in building culturally driven brands.

Drew joins from WPP’s Hogarth Worldwide, where he served as senior account manager and regional brand lead for Nespresso. His broad agency experience also spans roles at Publicis and Havas.

Commenting on his appointment, Drew said, “In today’s fragmented space, brands are looking for more than just a beauty contest and relying on hard data. Virtue stood out to me with their astute sensitivity to culture and entertainment and how to connect brands with their audience universe. I’m looking forward to collaborating with clients to not just hop on what’s hot, but put them in the front row seat to set what’s next.”

Chloe Fair, client services director at Virtue APAC, added, “Neon’s experience as a hybrid talent and his ability to foster strong collaborations with brands align with our vision for growth. His unique blend of creative and business expertise will be instrumental in helping us unlock new opportunities and expand our client partnerships across the region.”

Drew joins recent hires like senior content creator Clive Sin and senior strategist Marie Lee.

Germaine Ng joins Virtue APAC team as account director

Singapore – VICE Media Group’s agency Virtue in APAC has announced the appointment of Germaine Ng as its new account director. She will be based at Virtue’s Singapore regional hub.

Ng will be responsible for driving new business growth and expanding the agency’s reach across the region in the newly created role.

With deep integrated advertising and digital experience, she was previously an associate brand director at TBWA\Singapore, managing the global remit for Standard Chartered. She has also worked at M&C Saatchi and U-studio, the in-house agency for Unilever on brands including Dove, CLEAR, Pond’s and Ben & Jerry’s.

Speaking of her appointment, Ng said, “As the creative agency powered by VICE, Virtue is well placed to look ahead into culture to identify where and how the world is shifting towards before trends become mainstream. I’m looking forward to working with a team driven by collaboration and taking the agency into our next stage of growth.”

Meanwhile, Lesley John, managing director at Virtue APAC, commented, “I’m delighted to welcome Germaine to our team in Singapore. Her hybrid experience and balanced skill set coupled with her strong entrepreneurial drive, will enable us to supercharge our growth in the region.”

Ng’s appointment follows a slew of APAC appointments, including Ann May Chua as new head of production for APAC, Fiona Knight as head of account management for APAC, and Zoe Chen as new strategy director for APAC.

Flashtalking by Mediaocean bolsters JAPAC team with two new hires

Melbourne, Australia – Flashtalking, the global independent platform for ad management by omnichannel ad platform Mediaocean, has announced two new appointments to boost its team in JAPAC.

The new hires include Michael Serratore, the new account director for JAPAC, and Jay Smith, the new sales director for JAPAC – with both based in Melbourne, Australia.

Serratore was most recently the business director at Wavemaker ANZ, where he worked with brands such as Jetstar and Hungry Jacks, driving projects involving data management platforms (DMPs), dynamic creative, and analytics platforms. Taking the lead on cross-market digital transformation, he played a pivotal role in helping the company move towards its global business objectives and worked with key agency contacts across APAC.

As the new account director, Serratore will be leading and nurturing brand and agency partnerships across JAPAC. His long-standing history working with Flashtalking from the media agency side positions him well to act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insight and expertise on digital strategy and guidance on how to utilise the platform to connect advertisers with consumers through personalised ad experiences as part of omnichannel advertising campaigns. Serratore will also enable clients to make data-informed decisions across their media investments that drive greater engagement with audiences and better business outcomes.

Commenting on his appointment, Serratore said that he is thrilled to be joining Mediaocean this year as Melbourne takes strides to fully reopen once again.

“I’m looking forward to working with new clients, and using my knowledge coupled with Mediaocean’s industry-leading Flashtalking technology to provide them with creative-first, data-driven advertising solutions,” he added.

Meanwhile, Smith joins from MiQ Digital, where he was the sales director, and was critical in helping the business expand into additional regions across Australia. He also opened the MiQ Digital Melbourne office just over four years ago. Smith has played a key role in positioning the company as a trusted partner in the programmatic landscape, and winning new clients including Bega, Metricon, and Disney.

In his new role of sales director, Smith will work closely with advertisers, agencies, and ad tech partners to boost sales, ensure ad spend is being directed effectively, and increase operational efficiency across JAPAC. He will also be responsible for driving revenue through strategic solutions for clients and agencies using Flashtalking’s advanced analytics.

Smith commented that he is delighted to be joining such an industry leader in omnichannel solutions, including cookieless identity solutions, ad verification, and advanced analytics.

“I’m looking forward to working with exciting brands who are looking for unbiased media measurement and control of their own data, and to deliver more for their marketing dollars,” he said.

Georgia Brammer, the regional director for JAPAC at Flashtalking by Mediaocean, said, “I’m thrilled to welcome Michael and Jay on board in the launch of our Melbourne presence and further enhance our renowned team in JAPAC. We’re excited for our clients and wider team to benefit from their expertise in the digital advertising landscape.”
