Singapore – Singtel Group and National Gallery Singapore have renewed their partnership for another 10 years, reaffirming a shared commitment to enriching Singapore’s arts and cultural landscape.
A founding partner since the gallery opened in 2015, Singtel has played a key role in establishing it as one of Asia’s leading art institutions.
Over the past decade, the partnership has supported 16 major exhibitions that brought internationally acclaimed art from Southeast Asia and beyond to Singapore audiences.
These include the current exhibition, Into the Modern: Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the region’s largest-ever presentation of French Impressionism, featuring around 100 works by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and their contemporaries.
Earlier highlights include Yayoi Kusama’s first major Southeast Asian retrospective, which attracted more than 235,000 visitors, and Tropical: Stories from Southeast Asia and Latin America, which explored shared histories across the two regions.
Together, exhibitions held at the Singtel Special Exhibition Gallery have welcomed 1.5 million visitors.
Under the renewed agreement, Special Exhibition Galleries 1 and 2 on Level 3 of the City Hall Wing will continue to bear the Singtel name.
Yuen Kuan Moon, Singtel Group CEO, said, “Our longstanding partnership with the National Gallery Singapore has been driven by a shared mission to make art more accessible to all.”
He added, “We are immensely glad that Singaporeans and visitors alike have had access to some of the world’s most exciting art offerings from our gallery in the past 10 years and we look forward to presenting more culturally enriching work in the next lap. We are pleased to continue our support for National Gallery Singapore as it cements itself as one of the world’s leading cultural institutions.”
Eugene Tan, CEO and director of National Gallery Singapore, said, “Singtel has been an integral partner in our mission to bring world-class art to Singapore and to strengthen the region’s place in global art history.”
He added, “Their renewed support reflects a shared belief in the power of the arts to bring people together, spark dialogue, and deepen our collective understanding of the world. We are honoured to continue this partnership into our second decade.”
The renewed partnership will continue to support the Gallery’s presentation of major exhibitions for audiences in Singapore, Southeast Asia, and beyond, while reinforcing Singtel’s long-term commitment to arts and culture.
