Mumbai, India — IGP, a global direct-to-consumer gifting platform, has partnered with Maddock Films for the release of ‘Ikkis’, a biopic on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC, one of India’s youngest war heroes, posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra at the age of 21.
The film was released on December 25 and portrays Khetarpal’s courage, conviction, and sacrifice.
As the official gifting partner, IGP has created a limited-edition co-branded planter inspired by Khetarpal’s values of bravery, resilience, and duty. Each planter features an artwork, IGP’s self-watering pot design, and a hardy snake plant, intended as a living tribute to the soldier’s legacy. The planter also contains soil collected from the Arun Khetarpal memorial at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, where he studied.
Tarun Joshi, founder and CEO of IGP, said, “Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal’s courage and sacrifice remain one of the most powerful reminders of duty and honour in our country’s history. It is a privilege for us to pay tribute to a hero who continues to inspire generations. The opportunity to include soil from his memorial makes this collaboration deeply personal and profoundly meaningful for all of us at IGP. “
Tarun added, “We are pleased to tie up with Maddock Films & being a part of this journey as Ikkis brings his remarkable legacy to the forefront once again.”
Moreover, the planters form part of the film’s promotional campaign, which began on December 18, with 400 units distributed during on-ground activations. Each comes with a message card highlighting Khetarpal’s story. The planter is also available as official ‘Ikkis’ merchandise exclusively through IGP for a limited period.
Agastya Nanda, who plays Khetarpal in the film, said, “Playing Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal changed me in ways I will carry forever. To see a tribute like this planter – something that grows, something that holds soil from his memorial – feels incredibly special. It’s a reminder of the roots he came from and the courage he stood for. I hope everyone who brings it home feels connected to his journey in their own way.”
On the other hand, director Sriram Raghavan also shared, “Ikkis is not just a film for us; it’s a responsibility. Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal’s story deserves to be told with honesty, emotion, and deep respect. This collaboration with IGP adds a beautiful and symbolic layer to that effort. The planter carrying soil from his memorial allows people to take home a piece of his spirit. We couldn’t think of a more meaningful way to honour his memory.”
Proceeds from the sale of the Ikkis planters will support feeding underprivileged communities through a partnered NGO, extending the tribute into a charitable initiative. The collaboration is intended to preserve Khetarpal’s legacy and inspire future generations.
