NAC, Changi Airport Group turn Changi into global stage for Singapore arts

Singapore – National Arts Council (NAC) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) have signed a three-year partnership to showcase Singapore’s arts and culture to international audiences through Changi Airport—one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

The collaboration will see a series of curated art displays, live performances, and creative activations rolled out across the airport’s terminals, transforming transit spaces into immersive cultural touchpoints for the roughly 70 million passengers that pass through Changi annually.

Launched at Terminal 4, the partnership was officiated by Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, alongside executives from both organisations and local artists who staged live poetry and music performances.

Over the next three years, the initiative will feature multidisciplinary programming spanning literary, visual, and performing arts.

This includes Singapore Literature (SingLit) presented through live poetry engagements, as well as music performances that extend NAC’s I Play SG Music initiative into the airport environment.

During key arts festivals, Changi Airport may also serve as a platform for visual artists, offering global exposure to Singapore’s creative talent.

“NAC’s partnership with CAG turns one of the world’s busiest hubs into a creative stage for Singapore artists, providing them with access to global travellers,” said Elaine Ng, Chief Executive Officer of NAC.

For CAG, the initiative reinforces the airport’s role as more than a transport hub.

“Changi Airport is often travellers’ first and last impression of Singapore. This partnership allows us to reflect the nation’s cultural vibrancy while creating moments of discovery for passengers,” said Yam Kum Weng, Chief Executive Officer of CAG.

The partnership aligns with NAC’s broader push to bring the arts into everyday public spaces under its Our SG Arts Plan (2023–2027).

Recent efforts have included integrating artworks into MRT stations, trains, and community spaces, as well as collaborations with major venues such as Marina Bay Sands.
