Mumbai, India — Laqshya Media Group has driven extensive fan engagement activations at the DY Patil Stadium during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, following its appointment to the entertainment and fan engagement mandate.
The activation aimed to keep spectators engaged during mid-innings intervals and featured a mix of live performances and on-ground experiences.
Satyabrata Das, project head and chief alliance officer at Laqshya Media Group, said, “Cricket will always remain the main hero, and that belief drives everything we do. Our role is to complement the game with thoughtfully curated entertainment that enhances the live experience without overpowering it.”
Satyabrata added, “WPL 2026 has shown that when cricket and entertainment are seamlessly aligned, fans choose to stay, engage, and celebrate together. This is a new, evolved way of building stadium culture in India, where the focus remains on the sport, but the experience becomes unforgettable.”
Highlights included Yo Yo Honey Singh performing alongside Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, Jacqueline Fernandez delivering an energetic dance set, and appearances by Benny Dayal, Euphoria, Daler Mehndi, Sanju Rathod, Raja Kumari, and Varun Dhawan, who promoted ‘Border 2’.
The activation was coordinated closely with the BCCI’s on-ground operations team to ensure transitions, safety, and minimal disruption to the matches.
Laqshya Media Group will continue its fan engagement initiatives in Vadodara for the next leg of the tournament, with further activations planned ahead of the WPL 2026 finale on February 5.
The group’s work at DY Patil Stadium reinforces its focus on integrated sports entertainment, combining planning, creative execution, and collaboration with stakeholders to enhance the live cricket experience in India.
