Singapore – Vivek Kumar has stepped down from his role as chief executive officer at WWF Singapore, following four years with the organisation.
“After four meaningful years, WWF-Singapore is at a point of strategic maturity, which made this a responsible moment for me to take on a new challenge,” Vivek has told MARKETECH APAC.
He also added, “I’m deeply grateful for what we’ve built together at WWF and I’m confident my capable colleagues will keep building on the strong momentum. I look ahead with optimism, around a future mission that supports young people navigating disruption across Asia-Pacific.”
Vivek joined WWF-Singapore back in 2021 as its chief marketing and communications director, where he led WWF-Singapore’s campaigns, focusing on conservation and climate change goals such as deforestation, haze pollution, food security, plastics, sustainable finance, sustainable consumption, and illegal wildlife trade.
He was then promoted to the role of chief marketing, communications and fundraising officer in February 2023, before becoming the CEO of WWF-Singapore in January 2024.
Prior to joining WWF-Singapore, Vivek was the director of strategic marketing and omnichannel monetisation at NTUC FairPrice, where he helmed the marketing of over 160 Cheers and FairPrice Xpress convenience stores across Singapore, as well as setting up the FairPrice Group Media.
Moreover, He also held various roles in the Singapore Labour Movement since 2010, and was assistant director-general (ADG) and director of the membership services division of NTUC.
