Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Esports Players League (ESPL), the global amateur esports tournament and platform provider, has announced a partnership with Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia (YGG SEA), Southeast Asia’s gaming guild, that aims to usher in a new era of competitive gaming into the regional esports ecosystem and community.

YGG SEA is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that acquires and manages non-fungible tokens (NFTs) used in the metaverse, with the goal of building the world’s largest and most sustainable Play-to-Earn (P2E) virtual economy centered on SEA.

Ryan Kan, marketing manager for YGG SEA at  Malaysia, shared, “We are pooling players from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand and will continue to grow the P2E ecosystem within these countries. Having ESPL onboard with YGG SEA, this partnership will see both organizations expanding to over 300,000 users within 2023 in the region.”

Stephanie Kuan, chief operating officer at ESPL, commented, “This relationship represents a unique opportunity for both ESPL and YGG SEA to establish bigger goals for the regional esports communities while keeping everyone engaged through content, partnerships, and tournaments. This way we can continue to grow and prosper together.”

“We believe the P2E system is geared towards providing opportunities for all parties involved, from developers to players allowing this venture to act as a driving force to gather all communities and benefit as a whole,” Kuan added.
