Bangkok, Thailand — BBDO Bangkok has delivered one of Thailand’s most dominant media moments of the year with I’m OK // Not OK, an experimental short-film music video produced with Flare Bangkok that reunites the lead actors from the 2004 film ‘Dear Dakanda’.
The campaign inspired nine consecutive days of national attention across digital platforms and broadcast channels, becoming the most talked-about cultural release in Thailand during its launch period.
The film, featuring Noon Siraphun Wattanajinda and Sunny Suwanmethanont, marks the pair’s first on-screen appearance together in two decades.
Their reunion, filmed through a lie-detector setup without scripted dialogue, was directed by Thasorn “Pete” Boonyanate, CCO of BBDO Bangkok and Flare Bangkok, and produced by Toungrak Jiravatanarungsri.
The unscripted format captured their genuine reactions, driving substantial emotional engagement among viewers.
The release quickly reached #1 on YouTube in Thailand, while hashtags #ImOkNotOk and #BOYdPODxBillkin led X’s national trending list.
The campaign has generated more than 21 million views, 867 million impressions and 23.4 million engagements to date.
Its impact extended beyond the music film itself, pushing Dear Dakanda to the #2 slot on Netflix Thailand nearly 20 years after its original debut.
Boyd Kosiyabong’s Instagram following grew from 100,000 to 627,000, and BOYdPOD’s first concert in 16 years sold out within a day.
Boyd Kosiyabong said, “We never expected a story from twenty years ago to return with such emotional force. Seeing Dakanda and Khaiyoi together again—and watching fans reconnect—reminded us why we make music in the first place.”
Thasorn “Pete” Boonyanate said, “Their reunion wasn’t acting—it was real. The two hadn’t seen each other for two decades. We simply created the space for the moment to happen, and the story finished itself. That authenticity is what moved the nation.”
