India — MuscleBlaze has introduced a new long-form content initiative titled ‘India’s strongest unknowns’, a series designed to spotlight the experiences of athletes whose stories often remain untold within the country’s sporting landscape.
The project, created in collaboration with Tonic Worldwide, shifts the brand’s focus towards extended narrative storytelling centred on discipline, perseverance, and personal sacrifice.
The series adopts a documentary-style approach, moving away from traditional product-led advertising in favour of exploring the physical and emotional demands faced by athletes. MuscleBlaze said the initiative aims to strengthen its connection with its community by foregrounding the values that underpin high-performance sport.
The first instalment, ‘India’s Fastest Hurdler Ever | Tejas Shirse’s 13.41s National Record’, follows the journey of 110-metre hurdler Tejas Shirse. The 10-minute film also details the financial challenges encountered by Shirse, the pressure placed on his family, and a series of near-misses in qualifying for key competitions. Interviews with Shirse, his coach, and family members form the core of the narrative, culminating in his eventual national record.
“In an era dominated by micro-dramas and 1 sec reels, we made a conscious choice to slow down and deepen the conversation,” said Sudish Balan, co-founder & chief creative officer, Tonic Worldwide.
“The truth is, genuine effort and discipline are not concepts you can capture in a fleeting clip; they require sustained emotional investment. For ‘India’s strongest unknowns’, we committed to cinematic integrity and authenticity. By giving athletes like Tejas Shirse the full 10-minute canvas, we invite audiences not just to watch, but to connect deeply with their journey, their struggles, triumphs, and humanity,” Sudish explained.
He continued, “ Our aim is to not gain views but build profound engagement through lasting trust and a genuine alignment with the MuscleBlaze philosophy.”
MuscleBlaze said further films will be released periodically, each featuring athletes from different disciplines as the series expands its catalogue of stories.
