Singapore – Southeast Asian digital solution partner Intrepid has recently announced its integration with its 10 Ascential digital commerce sister brands and rebranding to form a single, global brand known as Flywheel.

Through the integration, Flywheel incorporates the unique capabilities of 11 brands, which were all under the Ascential Digital Commerce umbrella, allowing for comprehensive services ranging from media and retail, managed and self-service to consulting and retail insights.
Furthermore, this combination of companies also amplifies Flywheel’s client list, with clients carrying over from previous brands, notably having over half of 2022’s top 100 publicly listed companies by revenue.
As an integrated brand, Flywheel offerings include AI-powered ad optimization to ensure maximum reach and conversion, advanced analytics and machine learning provide clarity on market trends, as well as automation and bespoke consulting to help brands navigate the intricate media landscape.

Meanwhile, Duncan Painter, chief executive of Flywheel, commented, “The retail world is fiendishly complex and ever changing. But the goal of each brand remains the same – to use all the available data and the best technology to drive sales and scale profitably. Today we enter a new chapter. With our unique capabilities and expertise, close marketplace partnerships, and unrivalled data sets, the new Flywheel empowers brands to not just adapt but thrive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.”

Singapore – Intrepid Group Asia, leading e-commerce and digital solutions provider in Southeast Asia, has announced on its LinkedIn the appointment of its new CEO for the Philippines, Pierre Faucher.
Faucher is an accomplished senior executive with over 20 years of experience. His expertise includes strategy consulting and venture building, with a track record at firms like McKinsey & Company in Hong Kong and BlueFox International across Southeast Asia. For the latter, he held the CEO position in Vietnam for four years.
Faucher brings a wealth of knowledge in consumer behaviour, digital marketing, e-commerce, and commercial management which will help in unlocking the full digital potential of Intrepid’s brand partners.
Last June, Intrepid announced that it had been acquired by Ascential, an FTSE 250 company and global leader in information, analytics and e-commerce optimization. The acquisition provides Intrepid access to a broader network of resources and knowledge, which will allow it to cement its position as a technology leader in SEA.
Intrepid Group Asia was founded by ex-Lazada management and started its operations in 2017 in Vietnam. It has since become a regional player with offices across Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand.
Singapore – Global business-to-business media company Ascential has acquired regional e-commerce and digital solutions provider Intrepid. This drives Ascential’s expansion, further establishing the company as a truly global leader in e-commerce optimization by providing a strategic entry point into the high-growth South-East Asian market.
For Intrepid, the acquisition will provide access to a wider network of resources and knowledge, which will allow it to cement its position as a technology leader in South-East Asia, further accelerating its growth.
In addition, Intrepid will become part of Ascential’s Digital Commerce division, which enables consumer product companies to maximise their sales, share, and profitability across the world’s leading consumer marketplaces.
Duncan Painter, CEO of Ascential, said, “We are delighted to welcome Intrepid to the Ascential team. Intrepid’s strong presence in South East Asia and proven expertise operating across the major marketplaces in this important region further enhances the capabilities and global reach of our Digital Commerce business.”
Meanwhile, Jasper Knoben, CEO of Intrepid, said that the acquisition is a natural strategic fit for the continued success of both Intrepid and Ascential.
“Our vision, strategy and cultures are very well aligned and we look forward to working closely with the Ascential team. Joining Ascential offers Intrepid a strong platform for future growth, full of exciting opportunities to accelerate our business and leverage global best practices for our analytics and marketing technology to deliver truly cutting-edge service and tools for our clients across our e-commerce, marketing and insights business units,” Knoben commented.
Singapore – Intrepid Group Asia, e-commerce services platform with SEA presence, has announced two new appointments in its marketing team – Steven Ghoos, the new regional digital marketing director, and Anna March, the new regional director of e-commerce and performance marketing.
Ghoos is most recently a managing director at digital agency Lion & Lion, where he led business profitability and managed teams and campaign strategy in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. Prior to Lion & Lion, Ghoos was also the managing director at the Indonesian marketplace Lamudi, the head of sales and customer experience at Lazada, and the managing director at Rocket Internet. As he now joins Intrepid, Ghoos will be bringing over 16 years of experience in driving business profitability and strategy at market-leading companies.
Meanwhile, March has previously held performance director roles, where she led key digital accounts and strategy at Omnicom Agency Hearts and Science, Wavemaker London, and OMD Australia, as well as Aegis Australia. Prior to joining Intrepid Group late last year, she has also ran performance marketing for audiobook provider Audible in Australia and Japan. March brings almost two decades of experience in leading performance marketing strategy and teams.
Through their new roles, Ghoos and March will be driving Intrepid’s digital marketing business. March will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she will help drive the performance marketing strategy for brand partners in the e-commerce market, while Singapore-based Ghoos will be focusing on full-funnel, content, and creative propositions and clients in non-B2C e-commerce verticals.
Both will be reporting directly to Jasper Knoben, Intrepid Group Asia’s CEO.
Knoben commented, “Their complementary experience, valuable insights, and track records for impactful, performance-driven marketing will further strengthen our position and capabilities as a full-funnel partner that can help our clients gain a competitive edge in today’s digital world.”
