Singapore – Mandai Wildlife Group’s renowned wildlife and nature destination, Mandai Wildlife Reserve, has officially unveiled the list of its upcoming new offerings inspired by nature and wildlife, including its highly anticipated Mandai Rainforest Resort.

To start off, later this year, Mandai Wildlife Reserve will open to the public its ‘Mandai Boardwalk’, which is built along the edge of the Upper Seletar Reservoir. The boardwalk is one of the freely accessible green spaces where visitors can immerse themselves in nature and greenery outside the ticketed parks.

Following this, Mandai Wildlife Reserve is also finally opening the much-anticipated ‘Mandai Rainforest Resort’ in the first half of 2025. Operated by luxury hotel chain Banyan Tree, the 4.6-hectare site will house a 338-room resort, state-of-the-art facilities, and 24 elevated seed pod-shaped tree houses overlooking the reservoir.

Originally set to open in 2023 but delayed due to the effects of COVID-19 on the construction, the Mandai Rainforest Resort is designed to be the first-ever super low energy (SLE) resort in the country, featuring smart control strategies, passive infrared occupancy sensors, and passive displacement ventilation.

Singapore will also soon welcome its fifth wildlife park, Rainforest Wild, where visitors will be transported into the rainforests of Southeast Asia and Africa. This will be the newest addition to the existing wildlife parks—Bird Paradise, Night Safari, River Wonders, and Singapore Zoo—that are housed in Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

Aside from the revamped outdoor experience, Mandai Wildlife Reserve also teased the debut of their new range of nature-based edutainment activities housed within the indoor attractions. Expected to progressively open in the coming years, this includes the Exploria and Curiosity Cove, which will be located outside of the Singapore Zoo.

There will also be the addition of Green Canvas, a meeting and conferencing facility; the Mandai Gallery, which is an exhibition space to learn about the history of Singapore’s zoological parks; and ZooSchool, which will offer zoo-based adventure programmes curated specially for young children.

The Mandai Wildlife Reserve is being purposefully transformed into a 126-hectare destination teeming with an array of experiences that immerse its visitors in the sights, sounds, and scents of nature. Both ticketed and free green spaces promise to offer visitors an unparalleled view and experience of nature and wildlife at its best.

Mike Barclay, group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, shared, “While we continue to focus on expanding our positive impact in the fields of nature conservation, animal wildlife, and zoological research, we are excited by the prospect of immersing our guests in a wide array of nature and wildlife experiences at the fully opened Mandai Wildlife Reserve. This integrated destination will be a unique gateway to many inspiring and respectful interactions with nature and animals that Singaporeans and guests from overseas can enjoy.”

He added, “We are excited to unveil new options for stay-overs, with the Mandai Rainforest Resort acting as the perfect launchpad for exploring our wildlife parks and the many other offerings at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. We welcome Banyan Tree, the homegrown company with a globally renowned brand, as the operator of this new resort. We also look forward to presenting Rainforest Wild Asia, where park goers can navigate a Southeast Asian rainforest via various walkways that span the tree canopy, the forest floor, and a magical subterranean world of caverns.”
