Australia – CENTREPIECE, the new events and conference venue of Melbourne Park in Australia, has launched its first brand and acquisition campaign, ‘Make CENTREPIECE Your Masterpiece,’ to reinvigorate the city’s events sector in 2022.

The digitally lead campaign, which was created in partnership with creative agency partner Keep Left, is a 30-second ad that aims to drive awareness, differentiate, and build an understanding of CENTREPIECE among local and national event planners.

Georgia Pedersen, the strategic marketing manager at Melbourne and Olympic Parks, shared that building on the experience Melbourne and Olympic Park offers for major events such as the Australian Open, CENTREPIECE presents as an innovative and adaptable venue with the capability to host a range of events from large-scale conferences and major awards nights to weddings and gala celebrations.

“This campaign challenges event planners to express themselves and think outside the box with mind-expanding creative executions and get excited about the endless possibilities of building their event at CENTREPIECE,” said Pedersen.

Blair Kimber, Keep Left’s executive creative director, commented, “’Make CENTREPIECE Your Masterpiece’ speaks to the audience’s desire for creating unique events by demonstrating how customizable the venue is. It positions CENTREPIECE as the blank canvas that allows event managers to freely express their vision, to think big and deliver something bespoke.”

CENTREPIECE will begin hosting events in early 2022, including Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), the leading meetings and conventions event in APAC.

Melbourne, Australia – Keep Left, a local independent agency, has appointed former general manager at advertising company Proximity Worldwide Germany, Mike Doman, to be its newest general manager, under the creative and content division.

He will be leading the agency with responsibilities for strategic planning, digital, social, content and creative. Along with the broader management team, he will be responsible for the growth and continued evolution of Keep Left’s creative offering, which has grown under ECD Blair Kimber’s leadership on key clients such as ANZ, Openpay, and Charter Hall.

During his time at Proximity Worldwide, he helped shape the agency’s digital, experience, media, social and technology teams, while overseeing a client portfolio including Porsche, Amazon and Unilever. Prior to this, he also spent six years at CHE Proximity in Melbourne in a mix of strategic and creative roles, working across clients including Telstra, Mazda and Latitude Financial.

Speaking about his appointment, Doman said, “Keep Left is an agency with a huge ambition and the team has the talent to deliver on the vision. The opportunity for independent agencies in Australia is huge right now and – more than ever for advertising and content work – the need to earn attention, and not just pay for it, has never been more important.”

He added, “Keep Left’s heritage in earned media and PR – when combined with a crazy smart team that is experienced in advertising, editorial and digital – puts the agency in a front row seat to make seriously impactful work. The team is also genuinely nice, which is a major bonus.”

For his new role at Keep Left, he returns to Australia after working in Germany.

Caroline Catterall, CEO at Keep Left, commented that Doman is thoroughly energized by the challenge of shaping and building agencies, hence they couldn’t be more excited to have him join the team at this important time on embarking on a new three-year strategy.

“Mike’s breadth of experience across strategy and creative, and an understanding of PR and content marketing from early in his career, made him the standout candidate for us. The stars really aligned that he was planning to return to Australia and we’d built the business to a point where it presented the right opportunity for him,” Catterall said.

Australia – Creative communications agency Keep Left has launched an innovative brand project for the Victorian Energy Collaboration (VECO), the largest emissions reduction project ever undertaken by local governments worldwide.

VECO sees 46 local government councils in the state pool their energy contracts into one Power Purchase Agreement via Red Energy, to deliver 100% renewable energy that powers up council-owned infrastructure including public libraries, streetlights, and leisure centers, among others.

As the creative partner on the project, Keep Left was tasked with building the brand from inception, which included concepting the name, brand messaging, and visual identity, as well as launching creatives, such as a brand film, an explainer video, a website, and marketing collateral for all local councils involved.

In addition, the agency has also provided PR and consultation on the launch communication plan for VECO.

Keep Left’s CEO Caroline Catterall shared that it is always exciting to build a brand from scratch and see it come to life from initial ideas through to the finished work, but even more so when it’s such an important project.

She added, “When it comes to climate change people often wonder what they can do to make a difference. VECO is proof that big changes can happen at a local level through the power of collaboration and cooperation.”

“We are so pleased to have been on this journey with the Darebin City Council as the visionaries behind this initiative and thank them for their partnership in bringing VECO to life,” said Catterall.
