Hong Kong – Interpublic Group agency Golin Hong Kong has announced its partnership with ReThink HK, the city’s most ambitious business event for sustainable development, as the content partner and programme co-curator for the Sustainable Communities Theatre.
Through the partnership, Golin will be responsible for co-curating the conference programme ‘Rethinking Customers & Communications’ as part of the Sustainable Communities Theatre on Day 2 (6 October) of ReThink HK 2022. The programme sheds light on the rapidly changing role of marketers today, and explores the powerful opportunity for marketers to influence behaviour change as well as create and implement successful company sustainability strategies as the climate crisis and global warming worsen and social inequity rise.
Carol Yeung, VP and ESG lead at Golin Hong Kong, shared, “This is a critical time for brands to not only pay attention to their sustainability efforts, but solidify those efforts into demonstrable actions which respect the full breadth of the world around us. Our team’s excitement to showcase ReThink’s future-ready insights, combined with excellence in ESG communications, will no doubt magnify the change possible for Asia’s sustainability landscape.”
The programme will cover three panel discussions; ‘The Role of Marketing in a Sustainable New World’, ‘Inclusive Communications: Empowering Perspectives and Making Genuine Connections’, and ‘Navigating Eco-Credentials and the Greenwashing Complex: Operational vs Superficial Decisions’, offering a 360-perspective on marketing, risk mitigation on greenwashing, and inclusive campaigns.
The two-day conference and expo will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on October 5-6, 2022, and is aimed at Asia’s business leaders, sustainability practitioners, and those who are responsible for researching and sourcing new sustainable strategies for their organizations. More than 300 experts will gather on seven themed stages and theaters to share their expertise at this year’s event, which is now in its third year.
Chris Brown, founder and director of ReThink, commented, “Our platform was born from the idea that we can always ‘rethink’ a plan, idea, or system to change or improve it. ‘ReThinking Customers and Communications is a vital part of the event’s content programme as we see talents and consumers in the region increasingly concerned with brands’ and corporations’ genuine and purposeful efforts in aligning their environmental values and social impact. That’s exactly what we, as a society, need to centre our work on, and partnering with Golin will raise awareness and offer real insight for communicators in the industry.”
