Australia – To support its continuous national growth, corporate affairs agency Bastion Reputation has appointed Andrea Robertson as its new group client director.

In her new role, Robertson will be delivering work and support for Bastion Reputation’s client roster across government, education, technology, financial services, mining, energy, resources, and sports sectors.

Robertson is an experienced multimedia and communications agency client service director and has over 20 years of experience with global and Australian multimedia companies and advertising agencies. 

She also specialises in client relationship engagement, client service strategy and workflow, customer experience, contractual agreements, and product strategy and development, amongst others.

Prior to joining Bastion Reputation, Robertson was the group account director at global advertising agency Now Screen. In the role, she managed client experience and process, as well as brand and advertising strategy and creative and production for all advertising channels.

Bastion Reputation has been making appointments this year to amplify growth, including the appointment of Elliot Giakalis as principal consultant for media and public affairs and Jim Carden as principal consultant for campaigns and digital reputation.

Australia – Corporate communications and business consultancy Bastion Reputation has appointed Elliott Giakalis as its principal consultant for media and public affairs.

Giakalis is an experienced communications and corporate affairs professional with a background in financial law. He was previously with the Australia Post, where he managed the national media team throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, provided strategic counsel to senior executives nationally, and was the speechwriter for successive CEOs.

He also brings valuable experience in state government, where he was previously a senior media adviser to the Victorian Treasurer, Tim Pallas. In this role, he oversaw and executed the media strategy on four Victorian State Budgets and several significant government financial transactions, including the lease of the Port of Melbourne.

He started his career as a lawyer at the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), with a focus on financial services regulation and compliance and the obligations of market participants, before moving into corporate affairs.

Sydney, Australia – Corporate affairs agency Bastion Reputation has roped in Jim Carden, former corporate communications specialist at broadband access network NBN Australia, to be its principal consultant for campaigns and digital reputation.

Carden brings decades of experience across the business, government, and not-for-profit sectors in Australia. Aside from his previous role at NBN Australia, Carden has led corporate work for brands including Qantas Airways, BHP, and Brisbane Airport Corporation, as well as Transport for Victoria. 

Bastion Reputation believes that Carden’s breadth of experience across industries will ensure the agency’s reputation as a national leader in corporate and public affairs campaigns. For the role, he will be overseeing the critical practice as part of Bastion Reputation’s full-service offering. 

The agency shared that Carden has already rounded out an experienced team of principal consultants and heads of practices, covering media and public affairs, organizational and stakeholder communications, and issues and crisis, as well as training and capability.
