India – Over the years, more women have gained representation in professional spaces, but questions remain over whether those positions come with the opportunity to be fully heard. With this, MTV, in collaboration with RepIndia, has launched a digital film for Women’s Day that explores this dynamic in everyday workplace interactions.

Set during a routine video call, the film depicts the pace of modern collaboration, where overlapping reactions and rapid discussions can sometimes prevent certain voices from being heard.

The campaign is informed by research from Deloitte’s 2025 global outlook, which found that being interrupted or talked over during meetings remains one of the most commonly reported non-inclusive behaviours experienced by women in Indian workplaces. This insight forms the basis of the film’s central message: “Women are speaking. Are you listening?”

“When we started thinking about Women’s Day, we realised the most powerful thing we could do was simply show a familiar moment. Being interrupted in conversations is something many women experience every day, especially at work. Instead of being preachy, we chose to present the situation as it is. Sometimes just holding up a mirror to reality is enough to start an important conversation,” said Neelanjan Dasgupta, national creative director, RepIndia.

The campaign also shifts away from traditional celebratory narratives, focusing instead on the everyday realities that affect how workplace discussions unfold. It emphasises the difference between being present in a discussion and having space to complete a thought.

The film has been released on MTV India’s Instagram handle, extending the conversation into the digital spaces where workplace dialogue and cultural discussions increasingly take place.
